The community of Villa Victoria located in Boston’s South End is comprised of 435 units of low-income family housing as well as a variety of commercial and community spaces. It was originally developed in collaboration with Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s following many years of an intensive community organizing effort.
The properties were refinanced and rehabilitated over the past five years using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program and Section 8 Mark-up-to-Market Program. The community was developed in four phases which continue to be known as: Victoria Apartments, Viviendas Apartments, South End Apartments and Casas Borinquen Apartments.
